Comforter đź“Ś

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. -2 Corinthians 1:3-5.

In this life, we will face trials of many kinds but through it all, we have an assurance in Christ that we are never alone. No matter what we face here on Earth, we can always look up to God who is always by our side. We are being reminded through our key scripture that we have a Father who shows forth His mercies and comforts us in our sufferings.

There is no greater joy in knowing that God is with us. The gift of His word and His presence keeps us grounded in the truth. There is power that flows from Christ that empowers even in the midst of our pain. There is no measure to God’s outpouring of His compassion and love towards us. As believers, we have a place that we can run to in every season. Scripture tells us in Proverbs 18:10 that “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous man runs into it and is safe.” There is power in the name of Jesus but those who seek His face, find refuge.

May you find rest in knowing that you have a Comforter. Scripture reminds us in John 14:26 stating this “But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” As children belonging to God, we have everything that we need in the presence of the Lord. The Holy Spirit is a gift to us. The more we seek Him, the more we will know Him. So child of God, may you be reminded today and always that God is with you. No matter the loss or trial you face in this life, may you be reminded that you have a Heavenly Father that comforts and refreshes your soul. You are never alone. God is your Friend, Comforter, Father and everything that you need.

God Comforts Us …

1. Through His Word

2. Through the people He has brought into our lives.

3. Through fellowship/worship
