The Map πŸ“Œ

The Map, written by Aderonke Awonusi and produced by Seun Adejumobi was released on December 24th, 2021. The movie starring Kayode Owojori, Toyosi Salako, Seun Adejumobi, Ayo Folabi, and Oluwaseyi Pedro tells the story of a professor who is in urgent need of the cure to a disease know as Lakuma, that has spread rampantly, killing so many souls. Professor Dan, has tried to find the cure, working tirelessly in the lab to find solution but to no avail has he discovered the remedy that could save the sick in the community of Agbabi.

At the start of the film, a mother is highlighted with her child in her arms crying out for the Professor to help wake her son up.
The outcry for professors help still continues as the woman is in dire need for her son to rise up. Professor is her only hope.
As Professor is trying to help the woman with her dying son, another man is also calling him through the window for him to save his son.

As the movie proceeds, we see the frustration on Professors face as he continues the search to find a cure. He spent some time lamenting on the amount of kids that have died as he invites Deborah, whom is one of his interns to have a meeting.

It is through their conversation that Professor opens up to Deborah about the deadly disease known as Lakuma, that is killing mostly youths. According to research, Lakuma spreads through worms that feeds off fruits and when those fruits are consumed by youths, they fall sick and die.
Sometimes, you are the chosen one for the assignment. Deborah didn’t expect to be the chosen one among the rest of her peers but Professor believed that she was capable of doing the assignment. She doubted and fought with the idea but at last she ventured on the journey.
Many times, we don’t understand why we are chosen for the assignment for God knows the reason behind His selection. We just have to be obedient to the assignment.
Deborah, in a confused state about the assignment.
This scene reminded me of Exodus 3, when the Lord gave Moses an assignment and he began telling the Lord about all his background and how he is not qualified or the job. Like Deborah, many times we are not qualified but God equips us for the assignment.
Although, you may not understand the assignment, be obedient. God has everything that you need for the journey. You are chosen for a purpose for such a time as this! Ask God for the grace to do for what He has equipped you for in this season of your life.
The most important tool that we need as believers in Jesus Christ alone. He is out only GPS.

Lessons from β€œThe Map”

1. Life is a gift that doesn’t have to be unraveled unto us. As long as you have breath, you have an assignment here on Earth.

2. Wherever God has positioned you in this season of your life, it is for a purpose. Continue to seek His face and be obedient to His instruction.

3. Sometimes, you are the chosen one for the assignment. The path you will take is unique because it is where the Lord will lead you. You may not understand the process but in your obedience, you will surely reap a harvest in due time.

Even Professor Dan, who was giving her the assignment had never treaded that path but He believed in Deborah and entrusted her with this heavy assignment. Yes, Deborah had her questions and her doubts but she laid them down through the unraveling of their conversation.

4. The map was that representation of Hebrews 12:2. We are all on a journey but we must learn to seek the Lord always. We cannot thread upon the road by our own wisdom. We need the help of the Holy Spirit each step of the way.

5. There is a beginning and an end to the journey. The enemy’s mission still remains the same. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. The enemy can place people along our journey to distract us but we must learn to focus by continually drawing nearer to our guide.

6. God is so gracious and compassionate to us. Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful.

7. When it seems like all hope is lost, hope is restored through Christ alone.

8. No matter where you are on the journey, Jesus arms are wide open. He awaits you daughter/son to journey with Him. Jesus is the only way, the truth and life ( John 14:6)

9. You and I have an assignment. There are souls that we are connected to and the Father has entrusted us. May we be intentional, vigilant, and willing to fulfill the Master’s assignment. Our reward is great when we learn to fix our eyes on Jesus. There’s no other road I choose to take but to journey along the Master’s way. πŸ₯πŸ€—πŸ™πŸΏ.

Still considering whether she should take up the opportunity, Deborah sits to herself looking through the map πŸ—Ί.
Sometimes, the Holy Spirit reminds us of the times we prayed for an opportunity.

10. Though the road that lies before may look unsure, may we learn to put our trust in the Lord. This faith journey requires us putting our trust in the One who has entrusted us with the assignment. We can do nothing without by our side.

God will send forth helpers along the journey.
There is power in the words that we confess. Speak the word and believe it.

Overall, I really enjoyed this film. It was so worth watching and insightful. It’s that urgent reminder that we are here on this Earth on an assignment. We must seek the will of God above all things. God’s grace is sufficient for each season of our lives. No matter where you may be in your journey, draw near to God. Seek His face always. He is the best director, friend and confidant you can ever have in this life.

Even when the tears fall, we have Jesus who is always there for us. All we have to do is call upon His name.
Many days, we fail God by not being obedient to His instructions but yet still He is still gracious and forgives us πŸ™πŸΏ.
The journey still continues. As long as you have breath in your lungs, there is still hope that is alive and active. His name is Jesus! May we be reminded that we are here on limited time. We have an assignment. On this journey, we will face obstacles, meet different sets of people but we must learn to fix our eyes on Jesus always. May we seek the face of the Lord daily to know the assignment and to respond to the Father’s
heart.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post. God bless you all πŸ₯πŸ™πŸΏ
