The Gift ๐ŸŽ

โ€œWhen they saw the star, they were overjoyed. On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.โ€ -Matthew 2:10-11

Above everything that we can ever receive from this world, the gift of knowing Jesus is far more precious than silver and gold. In this season of celebration, may we take a moment to remember who Jesus is to us. Let us make room in our hearts for all that the Father wants to do. For us as believers, Christmas is a time to rejoice and a time spent with families while unraveling gifts under the tree. It is a wonderful time of the year. Our key scripture reminds us that upon seeing the star in the sky, the Magi were overjoyed. They were amazed at the sight of a star which was a guide to the presence of the Father. Though they had not seen Jesus, they were ecstatic by the sight of Godโ€™s own creation. At their arrival to the home, they bowed and worshipped Jesus. There, they opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. If thereโ€™s anything we can learn from the life of the magi, it would have to be humility. The magi, humbled themselves before Jesus and Mary. More than anything, they gave without waiting to receive. The magi didnโ€™t present any request to anyone but much rather, honored Jesus by acknowledging His presence. They came from afar with their gifts to bless the name of Jesus. Scripture reminds us that, โ€œIt is more blessed to give than to receive.โ€ ( See Acts 20:35 ). May we not lose sight of the purpose in this season. As some of us will exchange gifts, may we be reminded of the greatest exchange of all times. As we prepare to celebrate the birth of our Savior, may we take delight in knowing Him. The Magiโ€™s welcomed Jesus with praise. In this season of jubilee, may you offer Jesus, the very best that only He deserves. Although, we can never repay Jesus for His sacrifice, we can offer our worship which is a sweet fragrance unto Him.

Although, we can never repay Jesus for all that He has done for us, this one thing we can do unto our King. We can dance, sing, give thanks and count all our blessings and name them one by one.

Has Jesus been good to you? Testify! Let the whole world know of His goodness and faithfulness in your life.

โ€œEvery good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.โ€ -James 1:17

What gifts will you present to the Father in this season? As the Father has given, it is also good for us to give a โ€œGood measure, pressed down, shaken together, running overโ€ present ๐ŸŽ to the Lord. The Lord is worthy of everything not only in this season but in every season of our lives. May we always be reminded that Jesus is the reason for the season.

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post ๐Ÿ˜Š.
