Poem|The Journey Ahead

As the month of May comes to a close,

this I hope for you.

Light, joy and peace

for each new day.

Grace, favor and love your way.

May the love of Christ

overflow in your life.

With step that you take,

may you never lose hope.

Though this road is not

easy, may you be reminded

of the One who has never left you,

the One that goes ahead of you

and stands before you.

His name is Jesus.

He is for you and not against you.

Here in this place

and season,

He’s making all things beautiful with you,

for His glory.

Until next time, stay blessed & rooted in Christ 🙏🏿😊🌻

The Resilient Woman

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. -James 1:17

I want to start by saying Happy Mother’s Day to every woman all around the world. We, women are clothed in strength, love, resilience and so much more.

re•sil•ient: able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult situations.

Today has been quite an interesting day and I can’t help but share with you all. It all began this morning during my prayer session. As we all know it is Mother’s Day. It is a special day. As I was praying, my heart was heavy particularly in the area of women who cannot conceive due to various reasons, those who have lost their mothers and for children who do not have a good relationship with their mother. Throughout this week, I met a customer who shared her story with me about not being able to conceive. She has been married for a while and the doctors have done their test and it has been made clear to her that she cannot conceive. So it was quite interesting how this subject of women not conceiving was upon Spirit this morning. After my prayer time, I got prepared for church. The rain was pouring hard but that did not stop me from going into the presence of God. I have to say that at times, I get to church a little late due to transportation. Anyway, so I arrived and my first stop always before entering the sanctuary is the bathroom. I have to make sure that I wee wee before I enter the sanctuary because honestly I don’t like leaving once I’ve entered. As I entered, praise and worship was taking place. I was escorted to my seat by one of the ushers of course. The choir was ministering the songIndescribable“. As I was worshiping, the only words that was on my heart was “The Resilient Woman”. I wrote it down in my note section of my phone. Praise and worship was over.

Now, it was time for the announcements. Today was a special service designated to all mothers, women and sisters. After the announcements, the MC of the service came on stage. And then he said, the theme for this Mother’s Day service is “The Resilient Woman”. All I said was Wow. The girl sitting next to me “Kemi” said what’s wrong. I then told her that during worship, that was the same exact words that the Lord laid upon my heart. She then said “Girl you are in the spirit”. We kept talking about this and we rejoiced in our corner. I share this to say that “God Still Speaks”. He doesn’t just speak to a certain group of people but know that He speaks to all His children but we must learn to be yielded to the Holy Spirit. God will never force us into His presence but He will always be Present. In John 15, we are reminded that Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches. Apart from Him, we can bear no fruit. We are His sheep and He alone is the Shepherd. In John 10:27, we are reminded that God’s sheep hear His voice. It is written “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them and they follow me.” God is not far fetched. He is nearer than we think and so much closer like the next breathe we will take.

As we celebrate all the mothers, all around the world, don’t forget to lift up those who are going through so much pain. We, women go through so much but like rubber band, we bounce right back. There are many wounds that are open but as we know it is God who heals the broken-hearted. Below is a list of categories of different women, you can pray for today, tomorrow and the days ahead.

Categories of people you can pray for:

  1. Women who have been abused
  2. Women who are trusting God for a child
  3. Women who struggle to love again after being hurt in multiple relationships
  4. Daughters who don’t have a good relationship with their mothers
  5. Women who are hurting and are broken-hearted.
  6. Mothers who are struggling to raise their child on their own.
  7. Women who are just tired of life.
  8. Women who feel forgotten

As you take the time to lift up these women in your prayers, may God also answer your own prayers. Every woman is a gift. They are precious and unique to God. This gift that cannot be exchanged. Your mother is a gift. No matter how your mother is, she will always be your mother. No one can take the place of your mother. She may not have been there all this while but please find it in your heart to forgive. Forgive your mother because she is not perfect. Forgive her just as Christ forgave you. Allow God to mend your hearts to become one again. From your mothers womb, you came into this world. Love her, cherish her and remember always that she will always be your mother through thick and thin. It’s Mother’s Day. Celebrate the Queen in your life and know that you are beautiful, loved and strong. God loves you. Continue to be you and know that you are worth fighting for. 💐😊

With love,

Karen 😘

April Reflection// Bingo 😊

Good morning loves. I hope your all doing well on this day. We thank God for blessing us with another day to be alive. I wanted to do something different today on my blog. So I decided to create a Bingo game for you all. This will serve as a fun-filled reflection for the month of April. I pray that this month of April has been a blessed one for each of you. As we draw towards the final stretch of this day, I will advice that you take some time to rest. Many times, we tend to be on the go that we don’t take the time to rest our soul. Resting is not for the weak. Even God rested after creating everything. Bask in the presence of God and rest in your Saviors arms today. Have a wonderful day 😊.

Reflection Questions:

1. What did you love about the month of April?

2. Were you able to accomplish your goals?

3. Did you consume at least 5-6 cups of water each day?

4. When it comes to your finances, did you spend more or less than you expected?

5. How are you doing physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually?

6. Who can you pray for today?

7. Who can you encourage today?

8. What are you trusting God for? Have you sought Him?

9. What are some things that you need to work on about yourself?

10. What are you looking forward to in the month of May?

With love,

Karen 😘

Happy Monday. Welcome to another week in August. I hope that you are all doing well. If not, I pray that things get better for you. God is with you. In today’s blog post, I have created a list of podcasts that I personally listen to throughout the week. Let’s be honest, I can’t listen to each podcast everyday but these are the ones I listen to for the most part. They have been a blessing unto me. I pray that they will be a blessing unto you. If you have an IPhone, there’s an app that comes with the phone titled podcasts. There, you can search for all these amazing podcasts. If you have an Android, you can search to see if these podcasts are available. You can listen to some of these podcasts on YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud and etc. May you learn and take away something from these podcasts I have enlisted for you all. Feel free to share any on the comment section or leave a comment if you do take the time to listen to any of these podcasts. Thank you for stopping by my blog. Have a blessed week. Until next time, stay blessed and rooted in Christ 🙏🏿😊

My Verse of the week:  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~Philippians 4:6-8

Note To Younger Girls

  1. You are beautiful. Mama may have never told you that but I’m here to remind you that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. You are unique. No one can ever be you. You may have heard this before but that’s the truth of the matter.
  2. Take time for yourself. Get to know you. No this is not selfish. It’s extremely important for your well-being.
  3. Cultivate a relationship with God. Your faith is not dependent on your mother, father or grandmother’s salvation. Get to know God for yourself. You don’t have to wait till your 30 before you start getting serious about your relationship with God.
  4. You are not going to live in your parent’s house forever. One day, you’ll move out. So while you are living with your parents, make the most out of your time.
  5. Learn to cook. It’s not everyday ramen noodles. When your mom is cooking, try to watch her and ask questions. Learn from her. Cooking is art. Learn from others and add their tips to your cooking. These days, people showcase their cooking on youtube. You can learn from there. Stop getting upset when your asked to do your chores. It will help you one day in life. When you go to college and meet people who don’t clean or even brush their teeth, you’ll thank your mother for raising you.
  6. Learn from others. When you don’t understand something, ask questions.
  7. Friends come and go. At a young age, it’s so tough to understand. You’ll get upset and frustrated but later on you’ll realize it. Surround yourself with postive, likeminded people. You are who you attract. If you like drama, people who love drama, will be attracted to you. Know your friends. It’s not everyone you meet, you automatically give them the spare keys to your house. In the same way, you shouldn’t consider everyone you meet your friends. Know the difference between associates and friends. In order for one to be a good friend to you, you must learn to be one too. There is a season for everything. Understanding that there is a purpose to every encounter is key. Those who are meant to be a part of your life will be there. Don’t try to maintain friendships/relationships with people who make it apparent that they don’t want your friendship.
  8. Know your value. The way you are raised plays a role in how you behave/view things later on in life.
  9. Set goals for yourself but don’t forget to include God in your plans.
  10. Life is a journey. Be open to new adventures in life. Continue to learn from others. Don’t be hard on yourself. Try not to compare yourself with others. No one is perfect. It’s not everything you see in movies, or social media that is true. Most of the things your see are just highlights of one’s life. You don’t know what people are going through behind close doors. Appreciate the people that God has placed in your life. Make the most out of each day you are blessed to see. Live, laugh, love smile while you can. Life is what you make it 🙂

Best Clothing Websites

Hey ya’ll. I hope your doing well on this lovely Friday. Today I’m bringing to you all the best clothing websites to shop at whether it be dresses, shoes, or accessories. I find it sad when people don’t like telling a sister where they got that beautiful dress or shoe they are wearing. Honestly, I don’t think it’s a big deal but at the same time, I do understand why certain females don’t like to tell their friends where they purchased their clothing. Most times, it’s because they don’t want to see their friend wearing the same clothing as them or they just want to slay better than them. Either ways, I don’t see the big deal. So below are some if not most of the sites most women use to purchase their dresses. Of course there are great in store places you can visit but this list is mainly entailed towards online purchases.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. Tell a friend and their friends. Until next time, live, love, smile and be you always. Muaah 🙂
